More than 75 percent of Ohio consumers

Ohio produces
more than just the food we eat. Our location at the
eastern edge of the cornbelt allows for substantial
grain production and a strong supply of animal feed
products. Ohio is a leader in nursery stock production,
particularly African violets and poinsettias. Ohio
is also the largest sheep producing state east of
the Mississippi River providing quality wool products.
Additionally, the Southeastern Appalachian region
supplies lumber and wood that is used in furniture,
construction, and housing in Ohio, around the nation
and throughout the world.
Every dollar
spent on OHIO PROUD products reinvests in the state's
economy. Support local farmers and food processors,
your community, and Ohio's livelihood by purchasing
OHIO PROUD products.
Three in four

goods. Some say they would even pay a bit more for
items made in Ohio. Ohio agribusinesses, from farmers
and producers to manufacturers and retailers, realize
substantial benefits by affiliating with the OHIO
PROUD program.
OHIO PROUD is the signature marketing
program of the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Division
of Markets. This program was established in 1993
to identify and promote food and agricultural products
at least 50 percent grown, raised or processed in
Ohio.
